REQUIRED: The name of an organization or individual that developed the data set. 2007 habitat_types vector digital data withheld habitat_types This feature class identifes the habitat types (e.g. vegetation) within the City of Santa Cruz (exclusive of lands owned by the University of California). It was created by EcoSystems West Consulting Group during our work to update existing biological resource background data in assistance to the update of the City of Santa Cruz's General Plan. The feature class is an edited version of a vegetation map created for the City of Santa Cruz habitat conservation planning process (source unknown). The modifications made by EcoSystems West, as indicated in the attribute table, reflect areas where our biologist determined inaccuracies within the original shapefile. The following habitat types are identified in this feature class: aquatic cliff coastal scrub coastal prairie freshwater wetland mixed evergreen forest mixed evergreen forest-oak woodland annual grassland coastal prairie and annual grassland redwood forest riparian salt mash sandy beach ornamental plants (e.g. Eucalyptus) agriculture development Sensitive habitat types (those denoted with a "Y") are: grasslands (coastal prairie and annual grassland, and coastal prairie) aquatic freshwater wetland salt marsh riparian The data contained in this geodatabase are designed to assist the City of Santa Cruz Planning Department's work to update the city's general plan. en August 2007 current REQUIRED: The state of the data set.
